Portarlington u13s footballers played their first round of the league against a strong Portlaoise side in Rathleague on Friday evening. Portarlington had much of the possession throughout the first half, however found it hard to penetrate through Portlaoise's strong back line and just failed to convert their chances into scores. Portlaoise lead at half time 3-0 goals to 1-01.

Portarlington came out with more confidence in the second half and this time round took their scores when going forward. Our defence and midfield worked great throughout the game but unfortunately for Portarlington, the goals were too much to claw back. Overall a good performance for their first outing against a physical Portlaoise side, with Portlaoise winning on a score line of 4-03 to 1-06.
