The second half resumed, and again the Port boys really stood up to the big test ahead of them. With five minutes to go Port worked the ball skillfully up through the field and Sean Connolly Horan put the ball in the back of the net for Portarlington to go two points up. The away crowd were electric and the atmosphere was great. With time nearing the end the opposition got a free from the middle of the field and unfortunately the ball found the back of the net and Port losing out by 2 points. Ballinakill Ballypickas 3 10 Portarlington 3 08.
This was a fantastic performance from our players and with a 65 and a few frees going against our lads in the second half, it made the task even more difficult, however the fight they showed until the end was a credit to all players and this group of players have really come on from where they were. Our final league game is against The Harps on Thursday and a win will hopefully see them through to the league final.
