Portarlington Hurlers got their first round of the championship off to a flyer against a very strong Colt Shanhoe side. The players played excellent throughout in a high intensity game. Port went in at the break, leading by 5 points after a super first half performance.

Portarlington Hurlers got their first round of the championship off to a flyer against a very strong Colt Shanhoe side. The players played excellent throughout in a high intensity game. Port went in at the break, leading by 5 points after a super first half performance.
Colt Shanahoe came out in the second half and got a great start, taking a few well taken scores and going into a 4 point lead. However, the Port boys really stood up to the test and fought really hard in the final quarter. Port scored 1 05 without reply to go into a 5 point lead, which got the crowd cheering our lads over the line.
Portarlington keeper pulled off great saves during the game, and his puck outs found the man the whole time, while our defence worked excellent as a unit and physically winning great ball feeding our forward line.
Ports midfield pairing worked great throughout the game and won great ball, linking up great with our forward line. Portarlington forwards were on top form tonight, taking great scores in critical parts of the game.
