U15 Football League – Round 2
Portarlington 3-14 Ballyfin 0-08
Our U15 footballers hosted Ballyfin on a sunny evening in McCann Park, delivering a dominant performance from start to finish.
With the breeze at their backs in the first half, Portarlington came flying out of the traps, playing some excellent football right from the back. The midfield and forwards linked up superbly, taking some outstanding scores. By halftime, Port led 1-07 to 0-01 and could have easily added another 2-06 to their tally.
Despite playing against the breeze in the second half, Portarlington picked up right where they left off. They pushed on relentlessly, adding another 2-07 with some brilliant teamwork and determination.
This was a fantastic all-round team performance. We won the majority of our own kickouts and fiercely contested the opposition’s restarts. Our defense was rock-solid, limiting a strong Ballyfin side to just eight points, while our midfield put in a tireless shift, winning possession and driving forward to set up scores. Up front Ports forwards created great space and took their scores well.
Next up, Portarlington travel to face Crettyard in the next round.
Well done, lads—keep up the great work!
Compliments also to the ground staff on having the pitch looking so well this evening.
