Portarlington U17 footballers travelled to Ballylinan this evening and secured their second win of the championship.
This was a game of goals in the heat, that thankfully had dipped to just over the mid 20s.
The first half had a total of 8 goals scored between the two teams, with a goal scored from a penalty for each of the teams.
Half time score was Portarlington 4-03, Ballylinan’s 4-04.
In the 2nd half, Portarlington’s defence was strong and held Ballylinan to scoring only 7 points. It was tightly matched with only a point or two in it at times with winning team swapping and changing.
However Portarlington kept plugging away and getting the goals and managed 4 more in the second half.
Final score was Portarlington 8-03 v Ballylinan 4-11
