Port kicked off their championship campaign with an emphatic win over Arles Killeen on Sarturday Evening in O'Moore Park.
An early goal from Sean Michael Corcoran in the first minute of the game set the tone for the 1st half , with Port kicking 13 more points before the break, with scores coming from Colm Murphy, Jake Foster, Stuart Mulpeter & Rioghan Murphy.
Port led 1-13 to 0-03 going into the break.
The second half saw Killeen stage a comeback scoring 2 goals and reduce their deficit to 10 points at one stage, before Port, through a Jordan Fitzpatrick fisted goal, and 10 more points killed off the game eventually running out winners by 15 points.
Port now advance to round 2 and a local derby against neighbours O'Dempseys on the 5th August at 7:30pm in O'Moore Park.
With O'Dempseys in top form following their thrashing of Killeshin in the opening round, it is sure to be a tough battle on Friday week.
