Portarlington played Mountmellick in McCann park in front of a large attendance with both teams putting a full effort in this exciting match.

The first half had Portarlington behind at the break with two goals for Mountmellick being the main difference between the sides. Portarlington mounted a strong response at the restart where they continued to press forward and take their points to close the margin.

Strong running and hard work provided the break through when a turned over kickout provided Portarlington with a goal to push them into the lead. Two more points sealed the game with Portarlington coming out 4 point winners at the final whistle.

Portarlington march on to the final on the 17th of September.
