First outing of 2023 for Portarlington GAA U17 hurlers was against Portlaoise in Rathleague.

Due to the inclement weather over the last week or so the game was played on a soft grounded but heavy underground pitch that wasn’t one to allow for a bounce of a sliotar.

The Portarlington lads played a good match together with fantastic teamwork on show.

The game was one of equal match up on scoreboards throughout the match with a mere point or two in the difference most of the time.

Portarlington were just overtaken as the last retaken free of the match allowed Portlaoise to get in for a goal and win by a solitary point.
