Portarlington U13 Development team played Portlaoise this evening in McCann Park.

Portarlington started with a slight breeze and they kicked some excellent points early on to set the tone.

Noah McCluskey and Cian Twomey drove through the middle on a number of times and it was through one of these moves that McCluskey linked on to a brilliant through ball to score the first goal.

Port went through 1-5 to no score at half time. Excellent defence particularly by Cian Intharaphan and Caelin Melia continued in the second half. Portlaoise did make a come back but a beautiful finish from Sam Lyons helped Port close out the game.

Port finished the game with a winning score of 2-9 to 2-2.

We had a number of players making their first competitive start for Portarlington and each player showed great promise for the future.
