Our U13 hurlers took on Mountmellick away in the 4th round of the league on Friday evening. The opposition playing with the breeze in the first half scored 3-1. Goals from Ben Petriw and Ryan Murphy kept us in the game with just three points between the sides going into the second half.
Two quick goals from Aaron Walsh put Portarlington back in the lead. With ten minutes left in the game, Ryan Murphy scored two long range goals to seal the victory for Portarlington. Our defence showed great determination and only conceded one point in the second half, a true reflection of their efforts. Patrick Emerson, James Brady, Sam Petriw were rock solid in the full back line, with Sean Connolly Horan and Rory O Dwyer playing well in the half back line. Another solid game from our two midfielders Nathan Hayes and Ryan Judge.
Our forwards Ben Petriw, Ryan Murphy and Aaron Walsh rattling the net kept the score line ticking over for Portarlington.
